Monica Hedstrom

Bio

Monica Hedstrom joined MMCDC’s Board in 2023 as a representative of Mahnomen County.  An enrolled member of the White Earth Nation and descendent of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana, she has served the White Earth Natural Resources Division (WENRD) for over 25 years. Monica is a graduate of Mahnomen High School and earned her BA in biology at Concordia College. Professionally, she serves as a board member for the 1855 Treaty Authority, the White Earth Research Review Board, the White Earth Fisheries Commission, and the Red River Basin Commission representing Minnesota Tribal interest. Previous board experience includes the US EPA National Tribal Operations Committee (NTOC) and the US EPA National Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (NEJAC). She is trained in Phase I ESA and NEPA environmental review procedures. Monica also serves her community as a board member for the White Earth Tribal and Community College.
