TMRC is a culturally responsive recovery center for people seeking safe and substance-free living. It focuses on healing through honoring tribal teachings and traditions.
MMCDC provided $9.6 million as part of a larger financing package to construct two eight-bed residential treatment wings, counseling and administrative offices, therapy rooms, and a kitchen and dining area.
In addition to construction, the overall project also transferred trained staff and programming from an aging facility into a new building and company, and bolstered coding and billing practices to ensure long-term financial feasibility.
In our planning phase, we threw a couple of Recovery Rallies where the public either spoke about their addiction or how they had lost a loved one to addiction. Our hope is to bring families back together one at a time. Working with MMCDC staff was probably the best part of the whole New Markets Tax Credit experience. These were two great guys who truly cared. I would work with them again in a heartbeat. — Erin Belgarde, Turtle Mountain Recovery Center Board President
MMCDC financing was made possible by the federal New Markets Tax Credit, a program administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund.
TMRC’s services include individual and family focused inpatient, intensive outpatient, and low-intensity outpatient and aftercare.
