Arlen Kangas, Ph.D. President
Arlen Kangas served for two years as MMCDC’s business loan officer prior to assuming the role of company president in 1988. He led the expansion of MMCDC’s business lending portfolio, and development of its affordable housing construction and home mortgage lending programs, among others. A graduate of Bemidji State University, Kangas received his doctorate from Washington State University.

Steve Wiebolt V.P., Administration
Steve Wiebolt is responsible for all corporate and venture financial accounting. He also oversees the human resource function of the company. Prior to joining MMCDC, he worked as a business analyst and cost analyst for the White Earth Reservation Business Committee.

Keith Kicker Chief Financial Officer
Keith Kicker came to MMCDC after serving as CFO of a bank. He began working at MMCDC in June 2000 and also serves as the Assistant Treasurer of CDC Bancshares Inc., a bank holding company in which MMCDC is a stockholder. His duties include budgeting, financial analysis, performance assessment and planning for improvement.
Points Of Interest: Since MMCDC is a regulated upper-tier bank holding company which is examined by the Federal Reserve, Kicker's combination of for-profit and nonprofit experience provides for an excellent combination. |

Karen Neibert Accountant
Karen Neibert is responsible for accounts payable, cost accounting and monthly bank reconciliations. She is a graduate of the Minnesota School of Business and has previous experience as a loan processor and financial aid administrator.

Jamie Marks Erickson Development Officer
Jamie Marks Erickson assists in raising capital for MMCDC and its subsidiaries, primarily through grant applications. She also provides assistance in corporate communications, including public relations and marketing.
Points Of Interest: Erickson served as the editor of the Detroit Lakes newspapers for nine years. She is currently a member of the city council. |

Britton Ramsey
Britton joined MMCDC in 2008 as administrative assistant. She has a degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Business Management/Ownership and has six years of related experience.
Points of interest: Britton enjoys dance and teaches dance classes for youth of all ages. |

Sarah Castro
Tax Site Administrator
Among her duties for MMCDC, Sarah Castro is the tax site administrator for the company's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service. She also secures trust funds for children and financial education for youth and adults.

Rosy Hjermstad Housing Advocate
Rosy Hjermstad delivers homebuyer education classes and housing counseling on the White Earth Reservation and surrounding areas in Becker and Otter Tail counties. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and also has taught Spanish-language homebuyer education.

John King Real Estate Manager
John King has worked in real estate management since 1998. His responsibilities include providing and implementing an asset management plan for all properties owned and/or managed by MMCDC. He also coordinates all single-family construction projects undertaken by Northwest Minnesota Housing Cooperative in which MMCDC serves as developer.

Julia Nelmark Director, New Markets Tax Credit Program
Julia Nelmark manages all elements of MMCDC’s New Markets Tax Credit program and assists with the early-stage development of tax credit housing and other community projects. Before joining MMCDC, Nelmark spent time as a financial analyst for Amoco.

Nicole Kirchner Loan Officer
Nicole Kirchner services and monitors commercial loans. She also monitors payment and insurance on MMCDC’s in-house first-mortgage pool. She has past experience in the banking industry.

Tim Swenson Loan Servicer
Tim Swenson's tasks and responsibilities are primarily related to the federal New Markets Tax Credit program.

Kathy Misson was hired in 1997 and has been responsible for building MMCDC’s mortgage volume since that time. She oversees underwriting, marketing and customer relations.

As a mortgage loan processor, Angie greets walk-in customers, maintains loan files, updates various reports reviewed by management and directors, and conducts customer surveys and customer outreach.
